With Holidays Come Fluff

As Halloween approached this past October, WDRB began to include pointless stories with no societal value other than to entertain. For example, they used three minutes of their allotted evening news time to report on a Halloween party marriage proposal. They talked about how the girl who was proposed to loves Halloween; how the boy was dressed as Post Malone. They wasted three minutes of their time for that. They also used five minutes to inform their viewers as to where Halloween pumpkins come from in Kentucky. While this is kind-of a human interest story, it lasted five minutes! I understand the slow news days and how sometimes they need to be filled in with fluff, but the measures WDRB took were not good journalism. They should have used that time for helpful news, like where there would be bad weather for Halloween. Instead, they actually spent less time on weather than usual.
